Innovative haemoglobin screening technology CompoLab HB is one of the smallest devices for measuring haemoglobin out of human whole blood. By use of a unique motor powered cuvette holder, operation has become very easy by assuring excellent measuring accuracy at the same time. The haemoglobin value is detected out of 10 μl whole blood in a cuvette within 10 – 60 seconds.

MAGIC TIP saves one operation step

Triggered by MAGIC TIP, a finger tip to close the cuvette holder, CompoLab closes motor driven. Subsequently measuring and displaying of the haemoglobin value takes place automatically. The cuvette holder automatically opens for the next cuvette – and therefore saves one operation step. Additionally, the contamination risk is reduced, as no further parts of the device have to be touched.

Auto-calibration function

The CompoLab HB calibrates itself automatically befor every opening of the cuvette drawer as well as every 15 minutes during the stand-by mode. This function replaces the daily use of control cuvettes and the need of re-calibration. Due to calibration routine, potential ageing effects of the optical system are compensated automatically. This results in a reliable long term stability of CompoLab.

Color indicator in cuvette box

CompoLab HB disposables use up-to-date technology to realize a high level of quality assurance: The drying cartridge inside the cuvette box contains indicator substance. The change in colour of the cartridge substance from orange into transparent indicates, that the cartridge has been damaged by humidity and therefore shall not be used anymore.

Dual wave lengths method

To compensate potential turbidity of the whole blood sample, measuring is done at two wave lengths (570 / 880 nm). This supports excellent accuracy independent of individual blood variances.
